Carnival Cruise Lines changed the way the world viewed cruising. Prior to Carnival's entry, cruising was considered for the rich. Cruises were generally 7-14 days, required formal dress at least most evenings and were much more sophisticated than today's cruises. Even the deluxe cruise lines today are not as form as they once were. The traveling public has changed and continually changes, requiring a more relaxed, informal and fun atmosphere.
